Puerta del Sol
Built in the 13th century by the Knights Hospitaller as an entry point into the city, the gate is considered one of the finest Mudéjar style gate in Spain. The medallion in arch depicts the ordination of the Visigothic Saint Idelfonso, Toledo's patron saint. The name of the gate comes from the sun and the moon that were once painted on either side of this medallion.
