Interior, Catedral de Toledo
The interior consists of a central nave with two aisles on either side, divided by 88 clustered pillars supporting the vaults. There are splendid 15th and 16th-century stained glass windows throughout, including two beautiful rose windows above the north and south doors.

Begun in 1226 and finished in 1493, the Cathedral stands on the former site of the Great Mosque of Toledo. The primarily 13th-century architecture of Toledo cathedral draws its inspiration from the Gothic cathedrals of France. Its towers dominate the city's skyline and provide a focal point for the visitor. The Cathedral contains approximately 40 chapels with incomparable artistic treasures. Its Treasury houses exquisite artifacts for use in the various celebrations and rituals. The architectural styles and artistic elements give the Cathedral a distinctive identity.
