In July, the Kansas Group journeyed to the Western Catalan Pyrenees to visit the Vall de Boí and the Vall d'Aran. This area contains a large concentration of Romanesque churches and monasteries.

The mountains provide an impressive backdrop for the Romanesque art and architecture of the region.

After Boí, the Group visited Vielha and the ski area of Baqueira-Beret.

During the stay in the Pyrenees, the group attended the Falles in Taüll, an annual summer festival.
